Biography

  • Graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute with honors in 1996.
  • July 3, 2021, was appointed as Acting Rector of MEPhI. December 30, 2021, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia approved him as the rector of the MEPhI.
  • In 1994-2010, worked at the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation «Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics», where worked his way up from a graduate student to acting director of the institute.
  • In 2001-2003, worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands).
  • In different periods, worked under medium-term contracts at the Heidelberg University (Germany), the University of Pisa (Italy), the VU University Amsterdam (the Netherlands), the Annecy-le-Vieux Particle Physics Laboratory (France).
  • Since 2008, has been a member of the LHCb collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva).
  • In 2010-2021, held various positions relating to the leadership of fundamental research at the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute».
  • In 2014-2019, was the head of the Scientific Coordination Committee at the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» for cooperation between the Russian Federation and CERN.
  • In different periods conducted research and teaching activities at MIPT, MEPhI, MISiS, FEFU.
