Graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute with honors in 1996.
July 3, 2021, was appointed as Acting Rector of MEPhI. December 30, 2021, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia approved him as the rector of the MEPhI.
In 1994-2010, worked at the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation «Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics», where worked his way up from a graduate student to acting director of the institute.
In 2001-2003, worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands).
In different periods, worked under medium-term contracts at the Heidelberg University (Germany), the University of Pisa (Italy), the VU University Amsterdam (the Netherlands), the Annecy-le-Vieux Particle Physics Laboratory (France).
Since 2008, has been a member of the LHCb collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva).
In 2010-2021, held various positions relating to the leadership of fundamental research at the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute».
In 2014-2019, was the head of the Scientific Coordination Committee at the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» for cooperation between the Russian Federation and CERN.
In different periods conducted research and teaching activities at MIPT, MEPhI, MISiS, FEFU.
